To celebrate another wonderful year of the Feminist Kitchen book club + film series, we’re going to get together for a little holiday get-together at Hopfields Gastropub, 3110 Guadalupe St., at 7 p.m. Dec. 11. (If you haven’t been yet, this adorable locally owned beer-lovers paradise is just north of the UT campus. Yes, they also have food and might be the site of future meet-ups.)
Feel free to join us for a drink, a bite to eat and good conversation. Like all the meetings, this one is open to anyone who would like to come, and if you want to stay up on the book club chatter from month to month, check out our Facebook group.
We haven’t picked a location for the January 8 meetup, but all you have to do ahead of time is watch the television shows you already watch with a keen eye to how women, men and food are portrayed. We’ll be talking about “Modern Family,” “New Girl,” “Mad Men” and whatever other shows (“Seinfeld,” “Ally McBeal” and “Friends” come to mind) you bring to the table for discussion.
