I’m so excited for tomorrow’s get-together to talk about “Tomorrow There Will Be Apricots.” We’ll meet at 7 p.m. at Elaine’s Pork and Pie, 2113 Manor Road. Hopefully we can sit out on the porch like last time to talk about this gem of a book. Thanks to member Jamie for suggesting it!
I’ve been listening to most of this book via Audible, and I must say that I’d much rather read fiction than listen to it. (I listened to Michael Pollan’s new book, “Cooked,” on CD recently and didn’t have the same problems following along.) But once my headphones and I finally found a rhythm, Jessica Soffer’s multi-generational story captivated me. My friend Kristina tells me to expect a very abrupt end, and now that I’m down to the last 30 pages, I can’t wait to see what it is.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing some of you on Tuesday! We’ll hammer out details of the next few books, as well as when and where we’ll meet. Remember, no official membership required, and you can join the Feminist Kitchen Book Club group on Facebook to keep up on the conversation between meetings.
